We have some time now, many of us. I think it IS time that we all join forces and plan for a peaceful, re-birth of our world’s culture with an eye on keeping the planet alive for our children. I have roughly sketched out some starter ideas.

First of all – and worldwide – we want decisions to be made based on science, not based on the needs of big business.

This first suggestion would need to be modified for each nation?
(I am so sorry that I based it on the USA, only that is what I know.)
1. We ask the current leaders to step down. Sure they can be re-elected, if that is what the people choose, but let’s change the rules a little: (Or – more moderately – they comply with our requests?)
– No campaign contributions are allowed above an amount all people can reach
($100? but what about the homeless?) and no business contributions at all.
– No personal money allowed – in any facet of the campaign.
– Each office will have a cap on the amount of personal money allowed to be held by that individual (which would be quite a bit as I am not out to impinge on people’s rights, only to find a way to save Mother Earth, to make a new system which does not impinge on the rights of our children. It is not fair. We have to fix it.)
The rest would be donated to an approved charity or charities of their choice – or toward furthering green energy for all.
2. Businesses have to keep the planet first.
– Businesses are responsible for any plastic that they use
– including all the excess packaging that they give to us, so that it becomes cheaper for them to find another solution.
– No more plastic production unless it has to be done out of absolute necessity for medical purposes.
All other plastic must be recycled.
-Plans should be made to gather non-recyclable/unusable plastic and jettison it into space. (I am so sorry space, but if it saves the whales, Mother Earth – the fact that the first sign a life force in space will get from us is a big pile of garbage will have to be ok, and – oh, that says so much about us doesn’t it?)
– Businesses are responsible for the fixing or disposal and recycling of their own broken products. – the idea being to drive businesses to create products that are Quality, long-term, reparable items only.
(Products need to be reparable, whenever that is an option. It should not be cheaper for me to buy a new stove than it is to fix the old one.)
There are many options: items can be repaired, sold, refurbished, recycled…
– Proper scientific testing and updating of pharmaceuticals, vaccines – even pesticides. (The message to companies: ‘Don’t rest on your laurels.’)
3. Cleaner energy
– Solar and wind power for all – not just the rich
– Electric cars for all – not just the rich.
Divert funds from somewhere. From oil. The situation is urgent.
