On the covid-19 crisis:
– Economy pause. Ideally money matters would be put on hold worldwide
Like Italy – with the mortgages, but that is not sufficient…
Idea:
-(we are already doing this now in many places) Everyone quarantines themselves except essential employees in farming, food transport, power, water. Information, communication and basic sanitation provision etc. who would restrict movement between home and work. Only the essential personnel. ie Not the secretary at the water company.)
-The essential employees who continue to work (Thank you!) during this time should be paid in full at the end of the economic pause (and extra?!). That is their bonus – to make money while the bills stop.It is not enough, and it is not fair,
but to be able to revert completely to online-everything when we are not ready, is probably too much for immediate action.)
we need more drivers, basically?
We could raise an army of drivers with the right economic incentives.
And conveyor belts so that drivers can pick up orders outside of the warehouses/grocery stores and load their own truck before delivering to various addresses.
(Is this possible in a timely fashion? An old time “bucket brigade” could be used.)
EBT cards would need to work online.
